My love for travel started as a broke university student from Mississippi, nervously boarding a plane to Edinburgh, Scotland. I had no money, no sense of minimalism, and no idea how to cross the street without getting run over. I learned three things fast: 1) traffic goes the other direction in the UK, 2) life gets simpler when you own less stuff, and 3) authentic travel doesn’t cost a fortune. It costs curiosity.
Somewhere between cheap flights and late-night kebabs, I fell in love. First with the thrill of a new life abroad, and then (plot twist) with a person. That's how I ended up living a hybrid life: part of me in St. Augustine, Florida, surrounded by sunshine and my parents; part of me in Edinburgh, wandering cobblestone streets and chasing the light on Arthur's Seat with my now-husband.
Over the years, friends and family began asking me to plan trips. They'd tell me that traveling felt calmer. More intentional. Like they actually remembered it afterward. And I realized: if I can make travel feel that way for them, maybe I can make it feel that way for you too.
Here, you'll find stories, guides, and lists shaped by my lived experience. I write about what mattered, what surprised me, what tasted incredible, and what I'd do again. Because seeing the world isn't just about an itinerary - it's a lens for experiencing life differently.
